Curiosity killed a cat... And satisfaction brought her back.
Dammit, 't would seem like scholars have become extinct about 3 years ago. Nothing new's been said after that. The biggest load of all is a mindless quote, & no more to that, w/ hardly any paraphrasing. Maaan, that sucks.
Internet sucks. Mass media sucks most. How much do u think your life would have changed if u had no internet access? No MMORPG, no social networks, no online-movies and no downloadable stuff like e-books and school/university reviews?
I wish there were no internet in the whole world; just for a while. It would make a really cool experiment, would it not? =3

Kid stuff... If you wish to see the world without i-net, just remember your late childhood years in province =)
ps. mass media DO sucks, couse it really screw minds up... but i-net (opposed to TV and press) at least allows you to choose in what way it will be screwed =)
Леа
Well yeah, though sometimes it comes to involuntary envolvement, resulting in brain cointrol and fruitless time-killing=)
Anyway, it's WE ourselves who choose the way of being screwed; and howbeit, we're all human, and human is weak by definition. Now, imagine all those people who don't already imagine theworld w/o i-net. i think they'll act funny(:
Андрей
+1! mass media realy DO sucks. though can't imagine my life without e-books)) what do you think I'm doing on lectures?)) hate the sit there're trying to fill me with...
Леа
Nope. That's not the point. Lecturing is quite a different piece of cake.
What we see here is that it would have made your life much more challenging for u if there were no internet, e-books, cell phones & other modern devices.

...no oil, no power, no industry, no medicine... no civilization? back to tribes and caves? there's smth good & bad in every damn thing on this Earth. exception is people which is definitly pure evil =)
Леа
Ha! It depends...all depends=) on what u consider be "pure evil", on what u consider civilization here. U с, you confront "networking & devices" with "civilization" itself here. I'm not saying u'r right; neither u'r wrong. Different categories; subject axis viewing.
I was originally wondering what the experiment (of complete or partial media isolation) would lead to. (=
nevertheless, even now, when the electricity goes down in the evening and you just can't sleep - I read) till the morning if necessary)
in a more global picture, if for example, the i-net disappeared for a whole week, we'd all be hungry for communication, starving to death without usual social networks) I'd start phoning people asking to go out)) and chat-chat-chat like hell X)
would also like to see how i-net addicted ppl would act under such vicious circumstances
I was originally wondering what the experiment (of complete or partial media isolation) would lead to
I believe it would lead to some major misunderstandings and lots if misinformation. a real step back in the development of public relations, coz not only ppl communicate, countries also communicate through ppl, and if we all drown in different sort of lies /even deeper than now X)/ even a new war could become possible, as no one would know, what is really happening on the other side of the world
horror X)
though I'd like to see that too XD
*i'm laughing not at you, your thoughts on the matter are marvellous *__* It's just that i don't have enough time because of my studies at the moment T____T
good luck with them, and don't forget to sleep X)
yeah, war or even pre-war time could be a nice refreshing experience for the world)) I believe Koreas also think so XD with all that shooting at each other across the border)))
